The Alpine organization was founded by Wilhelm Kogelmann in 1968 and was the first to introduce roadheaders and excavator mounted cutters to USA, Canada, Mexico, and Australia. Alpine machines are used for excavation of tunnels and shafts for mining, civil engineering, and military projects all over the world.
