Excavation drums are best suited for medium hardness rock. Designed for maximum production they have fewer picks (teeth) than scaling drums and do not have a raised ridge to limits pick penetration.	Demolition drums are best suited for hard rock and concrete. They have fewer picks (teeth) than scaling drums and feature a raised ridge to limit pick penetration and control vibrations.	Scaling/Grinding drums are used whenever a precise or smooth surface is required. These drums are not intended for bulk production or rapid excavation work.
